Southwest Human Resource Agency offers several programs to meet the needs of individuals who possess disabilities.  The following programs may be able meet those specific needs you might have:

Disability Program Navigator

The Disability Program Navigator acts as a change agent to advance employment opportunities for all persons, but specifically for job seekers with disabilities.  The goals of this program are to create a more accommodating employment system and to bring to employers an expanded resource for a productive workforce.  For more information, visit: www.tncareers.org/disabilityservices/disabilityservices.htm

Head Start

The Head Start Program seeks to provide programming that will enhance children's growth and development in preparation for later academic and social pursuits.  For more information, visit: www.swhrahs.org.

Chore Services

The Chore Program assist frail, low-income elderly and/pr handicapped persons with little or no family support by providing basic housekeeping and referral services.  For more information, visit: www.swhra.org/seniors/index.php#Chore.

Homemaker Program

 The Homemaker Program is designed to meet the needs of aging and disabled individuals having difficulties with activities of daily living.  For more information, visit: www.swhra.org/seniors/index.php#Homemaker.

Nutrition Program

The Nutrition Program provides elderly and disabled persons a nutritious meal 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, in fourteen site locations.  For more information, visit: www.swhra.org/seniors/index.php#Nutrition.

Rural Public Transportation

Rural Public Transportation system is designed to benefit the entire community including elderly, preschoolers, dialysis patients, and disabled.  Vital transportation services are provided to the rural areas of Southwest Tennessee, linking these residents to doctors, grocery stores, employment, senior citizen centers, and recreation.  For more information, visit:  www.swhra.org/transportation/.

Southwest Human Resource Agency continues its long history of being the premier Community Services delivery organization in West Tennessee.

We are an Agency that continues to establish and maintain an outstanding reputation for quality human services to West and Central Tennessee Communities. Our growth and success is due to our desire and commitment to serving our customer’s needs, whether that be Child Care services, providing a Head Start for 3 and 4 year old children, providing public transportation, offering assistance for energy needs, lending a helping hand for youth, dislocated, and adult workers, or assisting our Senior population with basic needs.

I certainly appreciate our dedicated employees who are to be commended for accepting the challenge of improving the services we offer.
