Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP)
Provides assistance with energy bills to eligible low-income households
through regular or crisis assistance. Households must have a total
household income below 125% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. To
qualify for crisis assistance, the low-income family must have a cut off
notice and either an elderly or disabled member, or a child under 12
months of age. This program has an intake month for each county and
continues to run throughout the year. Eligible households that cannot be
serviced due to a lack of funding are placed on a waiting list until the
end of our fiscal year. Interested households should contact their local
Community Service Center.
