Dislocated Worker Services

Have you been dislocated from your job due to a layoff or plant closing?  If so, the West Tennessee Workforce Investment Board - Area 11 can help you find jobs and upgrade your skills in order to qualify you for better jobs.  The West Tennessee Workforce Investment Board - Area 11 serves adults looking for work and workers of any age who have been dislocated from their jobs through closings or layoffs.

In general, the West Tennessee Workforce Investment Board - Area 11's Dislocated Worker services are available to any West Tennessee resident who:

• Has been terminated or laid off from employment, or has received notification of an upcoming termination or layoff.

AND

• Is unlikely to return to work in his/her previous industry or occupation.

In coordination with other types of financial assistance, the Dislcoated Worker Program may be able to provide tuition, required books, fees, commuting assistance, meals, child care, and other approved expenses for classroom training of up to two years.  Career counseling is also available.
