SENIOR COMMUNITY SERVICE EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM
The program is for unemployed senior adults who are 55 years of age or older with a family income of no more than 125% of the federal poverty level. It gives the participant an opportunity to get back into the workforce who may have been out for some time. A participant works part time at minimum wage with the goal of gaining work experience and skills to help them find future employment outside of SCSEP. Enrollment priority is given to, but not limited to, veterans and qualified spouses of veterans, then individuals who are over 65 years old, with low literacy skills, or at risk of homelessness. Also, priority is reserved for those with low employment prospects due to skills or prior incarceration.
